Seamless Gutter Installation FAQs

How long does a gutter installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We form the gutters on site, so there's no waiting on fabrication — measure, form, hang, and clean up before we leave.

What's the difference between seamless and sectional gutters?

Sectional gutters snap together from pre-cut pieces, and every joint is a future leak. Seamless gutters are rolled as one continuous piece per run, so the only seams are at corners and downspouts.

Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

It depends on your roof's square footage and pitch. Larger or steeper roofs shed water faster and usually need 6-inch gutters with bigger downspouts. We measure and recommend — you decide.

Do you remove my old gutters?

Yes. Removal and haul-away of your old gutters and downspouts is part of the job, and we inspect your fascia boards before hanging anything new.

Gutter Guard Installation FAQs

Do gutter guards really eliminate cleaning?

Good guards, properly installed, eliminate routine cleaning for most homes. We still recommend a quick visual check each fall — but you're inspecting, not scooping.

Will guards work with my existing gutters?

Usually, yes. If your gutters are sound, we clean them and fit guards to them. If they're at the end of their life, we'll show you why and quote a combined replacement + guards price.

Do gutter guards handle heavy West Virginia rain?

Quality guards are rated far beyond our heaviest storms when they're sized and installed correctly. Overflow problems almost always trace back to bad installation, not the guard itself.

What about pine needles and maple seeds?

Fine debris is exactly where cheap screens fail. We recommend guard styles based on the trees around your home — what's falling on your roof determines what belongs on your gutters.

Gutter Repair FAQs

Can you repair gutters that are pulling away from the house?

Usually, yes. Pulling gutters typically mean failed spikes or rotted fascia. We re-hang with hidden hangers into sound wood — and if the fascia is rotted, we'll show you and fix the cause.

Why do my gutters overflow even after cleaning?

Overflow with clean gutters points to pitch problems, undersized gutters or downspouts, or a roof that sheds water faster than the system can take it. We diagnose which one before quoting.

Is it worth repairing older gutters?

If the runs are sound and the problem is localized — a bad corner, a failed hanger, a leaking seam — repair is often the right call. If the metal itself is failing, replacement is cheaper long-term.

Do you repair gutters you didn't install?

All the time. Most of our repair work is on systems other companies installed.

Gutter Replacement FAQs

How do I know it's time to replace instead of repair?

Widespread rust or cracking, seams failing in multiple places, gutters pulling loose along whole runs, or repair quotes that keep recurring — any of these usually mean replacement wins on cost within a couple of years.

How long does a full replacement take?

Most homes are one day: old system off in the morning, new seamless gutters formed and hung the same afternoon.

Can I add gutter guards during replacement?

It's the best time to do it — guards fitted to brand-new gutters as one system, at a better combined price than doing them separately.

Will you match my home's colors?

Yes. Seamless gutter stock comes in a wide range of baked-on finishes, and we'll bring samples to the estimate.

Gutter Cleaning FAQs

How often should gutters be cleaned in West Virginia?

Twice a year for most homes — late spring and after leaf-drop in the fall. Homes under heavy tree cover may need a third visit, or better yet, gutter guards.

What happens if I skip cleanings?

Clogged gutters overflow at the fascia, and that water ends up in the worst places: behind siding, in basements, and against foundations. Ice makes it worse — trapped water freezes and pries seams apart.

Do you clean gutters with guards on them?

Yes — guards dramatically cut debris but valleys and tops sometimes need clearing. If your guards are failing or badly installed, we'll show you photos and options.

Is professional cleaning worth it versus doing it myself?

Beyond safety, the difference is the downspout flush and the inspection. Most DIY cleanings scoop the runs and miss the clog that actually causes the overflow.

Still Have a Question?
